Colour Analysis Session

colour analysis

A colour analysis session is a wardrobe-changing experience!

Did you ever asked yourself :

      • Why some colours suit you better than others?
      • Or why you are inclined to choose garments in the same colour?
      • Did you know that even the neutral colour have a warm of cool undertone?

Enter the scientific beginnings

Embark on a journey rooted in the visionary insights of Johannes Itten, a revered Swiss art professor. Through meticulous observation, Itten unveiled a groundbreaking theory linking individuals’ innate color preferences to their unique chromatic attributes – encompassing skin tone, eye color, and hair hue. Fast forward to the glitzy realm of 1950s Hollywood, where Robert Dorr harnessed Itten’s principles to classify skin tones into warm and cool categories. To determine the warm or cold undertone, for the test, he used only two colours, warm orange and cool magenta hues. This is how Dorr laid the foundation for a transformative color palette paradigm.

Evolution into fashion

In the dynamic landscape of 1980s fashion, industry stalwarts honed Dorr’s framework into a sophisticated system – the bedrock of our contemporary colour analysis methodology. The system we have still today has evolved to four categories rather than the two Robert Dorr initially identified. The process delves deep into facial chromatics, scrutinizing every facet: eyes, eyebrows, hair, skin undertone, etc. While some characteristics of our faces can be clearly determined without too much difficulty, namely whether the features are light or medium or dark, other characteristics, like the cold or warm undertone of the skin or the bright and muted chromas you have, can only be determined by performing the colour analysis test.

Following the colour analysis session, we can determine whether an individual is in one of the 4 categories of typologies: spring, summer, autumn or winter.

For each one of these typologies, there is a list of colours that suit that typology best, in the sense that if we wear those colours:

  • our natural unique features will be enhanced,
  • our eyes will be brighter,
  • our skin will look fresher and healthier,
  • the dark circle under the eyes will be less visible,
  • as well as the wrinkles would be more blurred and
  • overall we will feel more fresh and at our best.

What you will experience

The colour analysis will consist of a comprehensive check of your natural features and the overall contrast between all these features using a tailored-made and highly efficient method. We will distinguish between warm and cold undertones, light, medium and dark features and bright or more muted characteristics. After the session, you will receive:

  • a set of guidelines with the colours that suit you best and also
  • a set of guidelines how to differentiate from different warm and cold shades.

Based on this method, you will start wearing colours and shades that will not only enhance your unique beautiful features. In addition, you will achieve cohesion in your wardrobe, harmonious colours and outfits that match each other and ease your morning dressing routine!
