Resin Bangles and Pink Gingham for Spring

No more looking for past spring vacations today. I am broadcasting from Dutch spring. After March treated us with high temperatures, these days were quite chilly. You wouldn’t say that seeing these pictures, right? Maybe a red nose here and there? Even with the 12 degrees outside, the magnolias are however at their best. Almost every house in the Netherlands has its own magnolia. But it is difficult to find one without entering people’s yards.

And at 6 pm in the evening, after work, every Dutch family sits nicely at the table celebrating the most important meal of the day: dinner. You cannot even think of knocking at their doors asking for permission to photograph their garden. Even if Dutch people don’t care for curtains and most of the time you can easily see the interior design and the people living in the house, the TV program they watch, maybe even the dinner menu, it would still be a mistake to photograph their beautiful gardens without approval. But on Vughtstraat, one of my favorite streets in Den Bosch, surrounded by platan trees, I spotted these magnolias. They seem to have no owners. So much freedom for them and then for me and my photographer!

The outfit I created had one purpose: how to match the resin bangles I received last weekend. These handmade playful bracelets traveled a long away, from Oregon to Den Bosch. I was really impressed by the collection of unique bangles of ModernFlowerChild. And it was a difficult decision because you can choose from earthy tones of greens and browns to bright and cheerful floral types to beautiful windswept beaches of Pacific Northwest bangles.

I went for the black and gold because it can be easily paired with other golden jewelry, even for a more pretentious outfit. And the light pink flowers inside the bangles were too delicate and perfect for spring to be left on the virtual shelf. For a while now I try to wear other jeans than the skinny ones. And these high-waist boyfriend jeans from Calvin Klein a la Thelma and Louise not only have an amazing color, but the white details match my favorite pair of shoes.
